Our Mission

We have the following primary missions: 

• to provide quality training opportunities in selected technical areas.
• to offer professional conference planning and management
• to serve as a scientific consultant in a variety of radio propagation issues associated with specialized government and DoD programs. This excludes HF communication prediction services provided through RPSI.

By special arrangement, we provide direct support to Radio Propagation Services (RPSI) through provision of Space Weather predictions and ionospheric data related to HF communication systems. Note: If you are a customer having need of specialized HF communication predictions and services, you should contact RPSI for these services. JMG Associates will serve as an uncompensated agent representing RPSI for your convenience. Any support for RPSI by JMG Associates is conducted on a zero dollar pass-through basis. 

Company Profile

• JMG Associates is incorporated in the State of Virginia, and has been in business since 1985 offering training courses through entities such as the Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the George Washington University. We have offered courses in Washington (DC), Alexandria (VA), Ft. Monmouth (NJ), Pax River Naval Air Station (MD), Keesler Air Force Base (MS), Fort Meade (MD), Fort Richie (MD), San Diego (CA), London (England), and Munich (Germany). JMG Associates has offered courses at Aeronautical Radio International Corporation (Annapolis, MD).
• Staff belong to the following professional organizations: AFCEA, the American Geophysical Union (AGU), Sigma Xi, and the International Union of Radio Science (URSI). Staff are actively involved in ITU-R activities and other international working groups. Over 100 reports and other publications have been authored by senior staff.
• The president of JMG Associates has organized thirteen international Ionospheric Effects Symposia (IES) since 1975. The last five:  IES99, IES2002, IES2005, IES2008, and IES2011 were run by JMG Associates under contract with the U.S. Government. These conferences have led to the publication of hardbound conference proceedings and special editions of the journal Radio Science. These "products" were managed by John Goodman and the JMG Associates team. The quality of our work on the IES series of symposia has received significant praise.  
• JMG Associates is a small business, and this is actually beneficial since we are obliged to give special attention to quality and responsiveness through closer communication with our customers. The key individual in our staff is Dr. John M. Goodman (see biographical sketch).
